Dun - The money is for the shields. IF we have enough time we can do more than one run up the hill and they can swap. I don't care either way.

How do these shields work? Will there be a notch or something on the sides that we can use to help steady our barrels, or do we shoot our guns one-handed pistol style?

How's about a hole somewhere in the middle of the shield to shoot out from ?

Final battle BG #6

Last time the shield were round. And a bit too small in my opinion. This year they will be round and a little bit bigger. I plan to use 1/4 plywood like last time but this time I plan to make the the shields over 40" wide. I'm not sold on the hole in the shield. Maybe a notch at the 1'oclock position? 11 o'clock for lefties? The defenders went down quicker than I thought they would last year. I think was due to small shield size and poor tactics. That's going to change this year.

Was it troy that had the notches in the shields? I thought that looked good.

what about using those thick plastic snow saucers/sleds? like these or are they to small?

If they were that small the game would be over in a matter of seconds I think.

If the shields had notches at 11 and 1 like Pickle was suggesting, and were big enough that the defenders could enact a testudo or phalanx formation I think we'd be set.
